Every coffee roaster works day after day to find the perfect roasting cycle for his beans. Every individual harvest of beans--even from the same part of the world--is unique, and slight adjustments in temperature and duration of roasting can help bring out the fullest flavor in each bean. Roasters also work to find blends of beans to create unique and dazzling flavors.

Our Own Special Blends
At Casteel Coffee, we have several house blends available for purchase, and we can even make custom blends to your order. Like most coffee roasters, we keep the exact recipe for our blends to ourselves, since proportions, roasts, and other factors can have a big impact on the flavor of the blend. Blending coffees isn't just a matter of mix-and-match, though, and there is considerable thought that goes into every new blend.

Since different coffee beans have different flavors, randomly mixing a few together can yield anything from an energized balance of contrasting flavors to a cacophony of taste that is scarcely palatable. A master roaster will choose the beans for his blend carefully, taking into account everything from flavor and acidity to moisture and weight.

At Casteel Coffee, our beans are roasted in small batches six days a week. This gives us plenty of opportunity to experiment and find the perfect balance for each of our specialty coffee blends. We put in all this work so that you can enjoy a whole world's worth of exotic coffee flavors in just one warm cup.
